2024 Rich Semantics Workshop

Workshop for 26th International Conference on Asia-Pacific Digital Libraries

Rapidly emerging technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs), Knowledge Graphs, and Semantic Modeling present opportunities, and challenges for new digital library services.   Moreover, massive amounts of online digital content can be used to develop sophisticated rich knowledge sources.  This workshop will examine the intersection and complementary use of semantic modeling, knowledge graphs, social media mining, and generative AI technologies.

Topics:

·        Developing, updating, and validating large-scale rich semantic resources.

·        Including (but not limited to) theory, analysis, comparison and evaluation, and prototype applications.

·        Semantic models for representing processes, causation, argumentation, and discourse, and contributions to and from generative AI

·        Including domains such as  natural science, social science, history, and humanities and content such as social media, books, and newspapers, and scholarly research reports.

Submissions and Presentations

Authors should submit a title and short abstact by Oct 1 and a 1-2 page abstract by Oct 15.  Notification by Nov 1.  Submissions should be made by email to rba@boballen.info Presentations should be original.  Copyright is retained by the author.  If possible, presenters of accepted papers should attend the workshop in person, but virtual presentations can be arranged.
